History of The Crystal Ball
 
The Crystal Ball is the premier fund raising event in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area where we are raising funds 100% for Muscular Dystrophy Research. Since our Inaugural Event in 2002, the Crystal Ball has raised over $1,135,500 which was delivered directly to the researchers working hard to find a cure for MD - a devastating muscle wasting disease. Muscular Dystrophy affects children and adults of all ages. Many of the children affected by Muscular Dystrophy are in wheelchairs and will not reach their 21st birthday. The Crystal Ball funds research for over 43 different types of neuromuscular diseases including ALS - Lou Gehrig’s Disease

Our Crystal Ball organization is composed entirely of local volunteers and our overhead is minimal. As a result, supporters of the Crystal Ball can feel confident their money is going where it is intended - making a difference in the lives of children and adults struggling with MD. Attached you will find information on sponsorships, program advertising and ticket prices. In addition, we are in need of donations for our live, super silent and silent auctions. Our silent auction is one of the highlights of the evening and the live auction is always spontaneous, entertaining and boasts some unusual and much sought after trips, dinners and packages.

Hunting for a Cure
The Crystal Ball is the premier fund raising event in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area raising funds 100% for Muscular Dystrophy Research in conjunction with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Our second annual Crystal Ball in January of 2003 raised over $140,000 to help "hunt" for a cure for this devastating, muscle wasting disease.

Our first annual Crystal Ball was a great success. $117,500 was raised for Muscular Dystrophy Research. In addition, a special auction raised $12,500 to help fund the annual Muscular Dystrophy summer camp.
